Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Last Brick?

Firstly the correct translation of the Hadith unlike the non Ahmadis post is :

Verily, my example and the example of the prophets before me can be likened to a man who built a house and paid great attention to its beautification and decoration. However, he leaves a place empty for one brick at its corner. People would walk around this house and would become astonished as to why this single place has been left empty. Then, the Holy Prophet (sa) said, ‘I am that brick and I am the Seal of the Prophets.’ (Bukhari)

They try to claim that this means that Nabi(Saw) presented the example of a house and shoed that it had a missing brick and that he is that missing brick which completes the building, meaning there is no further brick for another prophet. Secondly they try claiming that khataman nabiyeen here means last and that Nabi(Saw) used khataman nabiyeen to mean last brick. This hadith is metaphorically describing prophethood and the bricks are the prophets of Allah.

Now in Fathul Bari which is the most trusted commentary of Sahih Bukhari, it is stated: “In this Hadith, the purpose is to allude to the perfection of the law of Muhammad (sa) in comparison to the laws of the past.”

If we take the interpretation of the Non Ahmadis we would be accusing Nabi(Saw) and insulting him by stating that for him its a single brick but for the other religions many prophets came after one another. As a Muslim we cannot accept an interpretation that mocks Muhammad(Saw). Both ways this hadith supports Ahmadis. Nabi(Saw) states: “Verily, my example and the example of the prophets before me can be likened to…” This shows that Nabi(Saw) is referring to the prophets before him. Nabi(Saw) would not have said this rather would have said Verily my example and the example of all the prophets can be likened to. Nabi(saw) is using an analogy for the prophets of the past and refers to the perfection of his shariat which began with Adam(as). Secondly this isn’t even reliable.

It has two chain of narrations. First chain there is a narrator called Zuhair Bin Muhammad Taimi who is a weak narrator. It is stated:Mu‘awiyyah states that Yahya and Abu Zar‘ah consider him(i.e., Zuhair bin Muhammad Taimi) to be an unreliable narrator. ‘Uthman Ad-Darmi states that his false narrations are present in abundance. Imam Nisa’i has also declared him to be weak and at another occasion

Imam Nisa’i has stated that he is not a reliable narrator.”Tahzibut-Tahzib, Volume 2, p. 349

Even Imam Nisai has declared him to be a weak narrator! The second narration contains Abdullah Bin Dinar and Abu Salih Al Khauzi. Uaqaili has stated that the narration of Abdullah bin Dinar is not Authentic and Ibni Muin declared Ibn Salih a weak narrator as well Tahzibut-Tahzib, Volume 5, p. 202 ,241 Mizanul-I‘itidal, Volume 3, p. 365

Despite all of this you await a prophet yourself whom we say is Ahmad(as), The latter day messiah.
