Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Most Hated Organ?

This is by far one of the most foolish allegations of the non Ahmadi Muslims till today. They quote a poem of the Promised Messiah(as) which shows how humble he was, and make a mockery out of it. The poem couplet they quote out of context is:

“I am neither an earth-worm nor a human being. I am the most hated organ of the human body and a shame for hmanity” (Ruhani Khazain Volume 21, Page 127)

What they misunderstand here is the humility of the Promised Messiah(as) and a common way of poetry of the saints throughout Islamic history. We also have such statements in the Qur’an from the Prophets of Allah.

Allah States a statement of Yusuf(as) which is as follows:

وَمَا أُبَرِّئُ نَفْسِي ۚ إِنَّ النَّفْسَ لَأَمَّارَةٌ بِالسُّوءِ إِلَّا مَا رَحِمَ رَبِّي ۚ إِنَّ رَبِّي غَفُورٌ رَحِيمٌ {54}

“‘And I do not hold my own self to be free from weakness; for, the soul is surely prone to enjoin evil, save that whereon my Lord has mercy. Surely, my Lord is Most Forgiving, Merciful.” (Chapter 12 verse 54)

Allah further States a statement of Yunus(as) which is as follows:

وَذَا النُّونِ إِذْ ذَهَبَ مُغَاضِبًا فَظَنَّ أَنْ لَنْ نَقْدِرَ عَلَيْهِ فَنَادَىٰ فِي الظُّلُمَاتِ أَنْ لَا إِلَٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ إِنِّي كُنْتُ مِنَ الظَّالِمِينَ{88}

And remember Dha’l-Nun, when he went away in anger, and he thought that We would never cause him distress and he cried out in depths of darkness, saying, ‘There is no God but Thou, Holy art Thou. I have indeed been of the wrongdoers.’(Chapter 21 Verse 88)
Now let us see another part of the Poem of Ahmad(as):

“Though by calling us Kafir they went far distant from us,
Yet still we are in mourning for them, grieving and sorrowing.
We know that their hearts have become like stone,
Yet from stone can flow the stream of faith
However hard their hearts may be, we have not lost hope,
The verse “despair not” keeps our hearts firm
Our daily occupation is to shed tears before the Lord of favours,
Out of this river of tears will we bring forth at last a tree laden with fruit”

This is the other part of them poem. Is Ahmad(as) not mocked extremely disgustingly by the non Ahmadi Muslims? This is what he(as) is expressing to Allah. We see similar points in poems from Saints of Islamic history.

Maulana Zakariyah states:

“Hazrat Shah Ishaq Muhajiree Makki advised to Imdadullah Muhajir Makki : “Regard yourself to be most inferior in the entire creation” (Mashaikh-e-Chist (Eng Translation) Page 217)

Maulana Muhammad Qasim Nanotwi the founder of Darul-Uloom Deobandi stated in a poem recorded in Fazaail-e-Aamaal:

“Because of the huge amount of sins even the dogs treat my name as an abuse, but I am proud of your name and your relationship (Allah’s Messenger(saw)) and I desire that my name be included as a dog of (the streets of ) Medina. May I live with the dogs of your Haram and when I die may my corpse be eaten by the vultures of Medina.” (Fazaail-e-Aamaal, The Virtues of Durood Page 164, No. 46, Edition of 1985 Published by Dini Book Depot, Delhi)

Maulana Ilyas signs his letters addressing himself as “The Dog of the Prophets city” (Makatib Maulana Shah Mohammad Ilyas compiled by Sayed Abul-Hassan Ali Nadvi, Idara Ishaat al Diniyat, Nizamuddin New Delhi, Page 54)

Jalalddin al Rumi states:

“I was once like you, enlightened and “rational”. I too scoffed at lovers, Now I am drunk, crazed with misery. No one is safe! Watch Out”

Rabia Al Adawiyya States:

“O Lord Once I wanted You so Much
I didn’t even dare walk past Your house– An now I am not even worthy to be let in”

These statements are said by these famous scholars and many more and have nothing wrong in them.
