The allegation which the non Ahmadi Muslims quote is that Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) stated that he suffered from impotency. Even if one was to agree that the quotations they bring forward are a honest translation of the words of Mirza Ghulam Ahad(as), it shows the honesty of the Promised Messiah(as) to admit a weakness of his in regards to his life. There is not a single instance from any Qur’anic ayah nor any hadith that one who lacks physical virility has a worst relationship with Allah, or cannot be a prophet of Allah. Weakness is a normal issue and human beings are prone to this, especially with age. These quotations which the non Ahmadi Muslims bring, are from the time when Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) was around the age of fifty years. There is nothing wrong of feeling in such way at such a age.
The quotes the non Ahmadis bring fourth are totally dishonest. One main one they bring from Navista-e-Ghaib does not at all refer to a permanent condition of impotency. It only states that the author used to think he was impotent and this made perfect sense for Ahmad(as) as the time of his second marriage was in 1884 and he spent the previous 28 years of his life in a chaste state. His first marriage broke down when he was only 21 years of age. This statement is made around February, 1887 which was when Ahmad(as) was over the age of 52 years. During this time already, he had two sons, Mirza Sultan Ahmad and Mirza Fazl Ahmad and also one daughter named Ismat which was from his second marriage and a son named Bashir who was due six months latter in August 1887. These baseless allegations of the non Ahmadis are proven wrong itself as he had children. The second quotation they try to raise is from Tiryaqul Qulub, from 1889 when Ahmad(as) was over the age of 64 years, and by this time Allah blessed him with several children from his second wife. This itself is an evidence that the weakness he suffered in regards to this, was a temporary phase since he married again in 1884 at the age over around fifty and was blessed with ten children, which included six sons and four daughters. The youngest was born to Ahmad(as) when he was over 69 years of age who was named Hazrat Amatul Hafeez Begum (ra).
It is quite clear that Ahmad(as) was blessed with ten children at an advanced age, despite the fears of his people had in regards to his health, which itself is a sign of divine assistance. When Maulvi Muhammad Hussain Batalvi heard of the marriage of Ahmad(as), he stated:
“If this marriage has been undertaken in consideration of any spiritual powers then I have no objections because I am not a denier of the appetites and powers of God Almighty’s saints otherwise it is a matter of grave concern lest some hardship be occasioned” (Tiryaqul Qulub, page 35, Ruhani Khazain, Volume 15, page 203)
The children of Ahmad(as) themselves are proof of the false allegations against Ahmad(as) and show that Allah was assists him as Batalvi himself was forced to state.
