Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Contradiction In Claim Of Prophethood?

People claim that Ahmad(As) said in Izala Auham That prophethood is closed and later said it is open under Muhammad(saw) and claim that it is a contradiction, however that is untrue. When our opponents put forth this allegation they think they are proving Ahmad(as) to be false but rather prove him to be truthful and a true prophet.

Nothing is said to thee but what was said to the Messengers before thee. Thy Lord is indeed the Master of forgiveness; and also the Master of painful chastisement.(Chapter 41 Verse 44)

The opponents say the same allegations that were said to Muhammad(saw) and all prophets so this proves Ahmad(As)’s truthfulness. Whatever the mullahs do today Christian and Hindus did to Prophet Muhammad(saw). They write books named contradictions in Quran when really there is nothing. Same situation happens when it comes to Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as)

They say Ahmad(as) didn’t claim prophethood at first and that later on he did. This is such a sad allegation. From the first day in Brahine Ahmadiyya, Ahmad(as) till his death what was his claim? That Allah talks to me. Secondly that He gives me news of the unseen and thirdly that Allah called me a Nabi.

These three things are from his first book till his death. In that time when Allah told him he’s a messenger and a Nabi the scholars said a prophet and nabi is one who brings a new law and he abrogates the law before. None of this is in Ahmad(As). Ahmad(As) said I am not a prophet according to what your description of a prophet are.

Ahmad(As) said Allah called me a nabi because he talks to me and he means Im like a nabi. Around 1901 Allah told Ahmad(As) that the ulama description of Prophethood is wrong and totally false.

Allah told Ahmad(As) the true meaning of prophethood and a nabi doesn’t necessarily bring a new law. When Allah told Ahmad(As) this then he said the nabi and rasul in my revelations are not law bearing prophet. He told the world that wherever I have declined any prophethood I have only done it in the context of bringing a new law or have abrogated the law before me. He said I am only a prophet from Nabi(saw) and from loving him as chapter 4 verse 70 allows:

And whoso obeys Allah and this Messenger of His shall be among those on whom Allah has bestowed His blessings, namely, the Prophets, the Truthful, the Martyrs, and the Righteous. And excellent companions are these.(Chapter 4 verse 70)

No new law was brought by Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as), rather he revived Islam as prophesied. In 1906 Ahmad(As) said all prophethoods are closed except under Nabi(saw) a non law bearing prophet can come but from Islam only.Allah told Ahmad(As) what nabi means. It comes from naba meaning news from Allah which has a purpose. Nabi means giving the news (all dictionaries of Arabic) Nabi Means to give news of the unseen from revelation of Allah. There is no contradiction at all in the claims or writings of Ahmad(As). Quran says Allah knows the news of the unseen and he doesn’t tell anyone this news unless he is a messenger. Ahmad(As) explained that him being called a nabi and rasool means nabi and rasool but not bringing a new law. There is no contradiction at all. Allah reveals to his messengers slowly He did not reveal the entire Qur’an in one day rather took 23 years. It is Allah’s way to reveal slowly so the Prophet can understand properly and so the people can handle it as well.

Ahmad(as) states:

“Wherever I have denied being a Prophet or Messenger, it has only been in the sense that I have not brought an independent law nor am I an independent Prophet. I am a Messenger and Prophet only in the sense that I have received spiritual grace from the Messenger(sa) whom I follow, and, having received his name for myself, and through him, I have received knowledge of the unseen from God. But I have not come with a new law. I have never denied being called a Nabi (Prophet) in this sense. Indeed it is in this very sense that God has addressed me as Nabi and Rasul; and it is in this sense that I do not deny being a Nabi or Rasul.”(A Misconception Removed, Page 10)
