Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(As) did kill dajjal at gate of ludd. One narration which mentions the Gate of Ludd is : “I heard the Messenger of Allah(s.a.w) saying: ‘Eisa bin Maryam will kill the Dajjal at the gate of Ludd.'” (Tirmidhi)
Also in Sahih Muslim it is stated that : He would then search for him (Dajjal) until he would catch hold of him at the gate of Ludd and would kill him.
The Ahmadi Interpretation of this is that ludd is the plural for aladd which refers to the act of one involved in disputes and arguments. This refers to the messiah(As) destroying and dismantling the false doctrines of Christianity through evidences from the Bible, and all other sorts of proof. Promised Messiah(As) did exactly that and proved from the bible many things including the proof that Isa(As) did not die on the cross, nor did he believe he was god or believe in trinity. He shut down Christianity single handedly and today Ahmadi’s use those same arguments which is why christian’s do not debate us. Sadly Ahmad Deedat and his students like Zakir Naik have stole these arguements. Shabir Ally also has used these stolen arguments and it went to the point where some one asked him “have you become Ahmadi” which embarrassed him.
This hadith also refers to the Holy War which was one of the greatest debates against Christianity by Ahmad(As) which happened in Amritsar in 1893. The Promised Messiah(as) humiliated Atham so badly through arguments that the one who set up the debate named Henry Martin Clarke even admit that Atham did not do well and was not the right person for the debate. Amritsar is close to Ludhiana which is why it is called the gate of Ludd and it is possible that the city of Ludhiana is Ludd since that is where Dajjal had its outbreak at first and Promised Messiah(as) humiliated all that came in his way.
An interesting incident which took place during the Holy War which was one of the greatest debates was that Atham brought some sick people and told Ahmad(As) that you claim to be the Messiah so heal these people? Ahmad(as) answered :
“In your religion there are signs mentioned by Jesus(as) of such people who have attained salvation, that is, the true believers. Can those signs be witnessed in you? For example, Mark 16:17-18 states:
‘And these signs will accompany those who believe: in my name they will cast out demons; they will speak in new tongues; they will pick up serpents with their hands; and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay their hands on the sick, and they will recover.’
Atham was humiliated and was unable to do anything showing from his own books he has no faith in Isa(as) as a God. This shut down the debate. The cross was indeed broken.
