Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Book, Wisdom And The Torah and the Gospel

And He will teach him the Book and the Wisdom and the Torah and the Gospel(Chapter 3 Verse 49)

This is yet another baseless attempt in try to prove that Isa(as) is alive. The Non Ahmadis try to claim that book and wisdom means the Holy Qur’an at all times, however this is not true. Allah states:

And [recall, O People of the Scripture], when Allah took the covenant of the prophets, [saying], “Whatever I give you of the Scripture and wisdom (Kitab and hikmah) and then there comes to you a messenger confirming what is with you, you [must] believe in him and support him.” [ Allah ] said, “Have you acknowledged and taken upon that My commitment?” They said, “We have acknowledged it.” He said, “Then bear witness, and I am with you among the witnesses.”(Chapter 3 Verse 82)

So their claim for trying to use this to prove Isa(as) being alive is already proven as a failed attempt and would mean that all prophets are alive who have not seen the Qur’an as this ayah states Book and Wisdom for all of the prophets.

Allah also states in the Holy Qur’an that He granted the children of Abraham knowledge of the Book and Wisdom. The Holy Qur’an in Chapter 4 verse 54 states:

Or do they envy people for what Allah has given them of His bounty? But we had already given the family of Abraham the Scripture and wisdom and conferred upon them a great kingdom.(Chapter 4 Verse 55)

Now everyone knows that Ishmael, Isaac, Jacob and Joesph etc were never taught the Quran or hadith by Allah. If you claim kitab and hikmah means Quran and hadith which it does not, then all prophets including the family of Abraham should have been taught the Quran.

Then according to you all the prophets are alive in heavens and will return? Maybe even by the same teacher in the same class? Of course not. These are ridiculous claims. With your claim no prophet has died. All are alive and will come back to learn Quran and hadtih. This is clearly a belief the non Ahmadis do not even have so quoting such an argument will change their entire aqeedah on prophethood.

It is clear that al kitab and al hikmah when used together do not always refer to Quran and hadith. These two are given to every prophet of Allah. Allah only stated that Isa(as) was taught the Torah and the Gospel. He was not taught the Quran nor will he ever be taught the Quran. Quran itself says he was sent for the Children of Israel.

If Isa(As) was taught the Quran it would have to be abrogated wherever it claims he was sent to fulfill the mosaic law alone. It would also need to be aboraged wherever it claims he was sent to the children of Israel. Qur’an has no abrogation nor will it ever need to be changed. No Muslim can accept this. The only way the second coming of the Messiah(As) can teach the Quran is if he was raised from our ummah which he was and he fulfilled all tasks. On top of this you ignore over 30 verses proving Isa(as)’s death making it seem like Quran has contradictions nauzobilla. All just to say that Isa(as) is alive you go to the point where you make the Quran sound contradictory.

Even when we look at the most famous sunni kitab of tafseer called Tafsir Ibn Kathir, he himself has stated:

الْكِتَـبَ وَالْحِكْمَةَ

(the Book and Al-Hikmah). It appears that the `Book’ the Ayah mentioned here refers to writing. We explained the meaning of Al-Hikmah in the Tafsir of Surat Al-Baqarah.

التَّوْرَاةَ وَالإِنجِيلَ

(the Tawrah and the Injil). The Tawrah is the Book that Allah sent down to Musa, son of `Imran, while the Injil is what Allah sent down to `Isa, son of Maryam, peace be upon them

Even he has not stated this refers to the Qur’an.
