Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Age Prophecy?

This allegation of the non Ahmadis is against the age prophecies of the Promised Messiah(as). They accuse him, for saying that he would live over 80 years in his writings, but this is not true at all. They have often lied about translations and have lied here once again sadly.

Ahmad(as) was revealed to:

That is [Arabic] Your age will be eighty years—a few years less or some years more(Tadhkirah, 1865 Revelation, Arbaeen #3)

In Haqeeqatul Wahi Ahmad(as) has wirrten :”Eighty years or four to five years more or four to five years less”

Ahmad(as) states: “The real words about the promise in the revelation assign the age between 74 and 86″ [Zamima Baraheen-e-Ahmadiyya Vol 5 page 97 margin]

It was revealed to him : “We shall bestow upon you a good life; eighty years or thereabouts” [Tadhkirah page 243]

Anti Ahmadis have lied about the translations and have written only the more part. How dishonest can they get?

There is also a confusion on when the Promised Messiah(as) was born. We have to keep in mind that during his time, taking down the day of ones birth was not a tradition. We even have different dates in regards to the birth of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) and are not sure about it. Ahmad(as) has indeed given estimates that maybe he was born around 1839, however he has given many hints to us. Ahmad(as) has stated “The day I was born was Friday 14th of Lunar Month” (Tohfa Golarvia page 110)

It is also recored that Ahmad(as) said “The month of my birth was Phagan, it was the 14th of a lunar month and the day was Friday (Zikar-e-Habib by Mufti Muhammad Sadique(ra)). According to these two references that show us that Ahmad(as) was born on a Friday and on the month was of phagan on a 14th, it makes it easier to determine the date. During the whole 10 years from 1830 to 1840 the 14th of Friday during a lunar on the month of Phagan only occurred twice. Once on February 17th 1832 and once on February 13th 1835. Thus the date has been donfirmed to be February 13th 1835 which is the 14th of Shawal 1250 Hijrah.

Ahmad(as) has also stated:

“This is an amazing fact, which I consider as a sign that in exactly 1290 hijrah I had been granted the blessing of revelation from Allah (Haqeeqatul Wahi, page 199) Ahmad(as) has also told us that “when I reached the age of 40 then Alah granted me the blessing of revelations” (Taryaqul Quloob page 68) Therefore we come to the conclusion that when we take 1290 for the hijrah and minus 40 years of the revelation we come to 1250 which clearly agrees with our previous statement of his birth.

Secondly Ahmad(as) states “On 23rd of August 1903 A.D an announcement was published from my side which contain the sentence that “I am aaround 70 years of age while Dowie is a young man of 50 as he describes (Haqeeqatul Wahi page 71)

According to this, the age of Ahmad(as) in 1903 was around 70 and he died give years after this which shows that his age was around 75 years and according to the Islamic calendar it was around 77.

He also states:

We have come to the conclusion however that the day of his birth was February 13th 1835 which is Shawal 14, 1250 according to the Islamic calendar and he passed away on the 26th of May in 1908 which is Rabi-Us-sani 24 1326 Hijrah according to the Islamic calendar. So according to this his age according to the Islamic calendar his exact age was 75 years 6 months and 10 days which fulfills the prophecy.

Some say did Allah not know? Well of course Allah did as in Haqeeqatul Wahi Ahmad(as) made it clear that he would live around 74 to 86 years. Some say that revelation never has estimations but this is a complete sign of ignorance. The Qur’an states:

And if We show thee in thy lifetime the fulfilment of some of the things with which We have threatened them, thou wilt know it; or if We cause thee to die before that, then to Us is their return, and thou wilt see the fulfilment in the next world; and Allah is Witness to all that they do.(Chapter 10 verse 47)

Even here Allah has said “or if we cause thee to die before that” Ahmad(as)s revelations were exactly in the same category.

The opponents of Ahmad(as) himself are a witness to the prophecy age of the promised Messiah(as) being fulfilled.

Maulvi Sanaullah states:

“Mirza Sahib has said that his demise would be near 80 years of age and perhaps he has fulfilled all those conditions” [Ahl-e-hadith 3rd May 1907 page 3 column2]

Its also an important thing to notice that in 1907 Sanaullah was questioning in regards to why Ahmad(As) hasn’t died yet as he had reached 80 according to his knowledge.

Again he writes:

A person who is older than 70 years of age (as is Mirza sahib himself)…” [Tafseer-e-sanai Matbooa 1899 Hashia 4 under ayat Inni mutawaffeeqa ]

Maulvi Hussain Batalvi wrote: “He’s already 63 years old..”(Risala Isha’at –us-sunnah, vol 15, page 191)

This was written in the year of 1893 which shows that according to him Ahmad(as) died at the age of 78.

Its also important to note that Ahmad(as) was receiving revelations in regards to his death. He was shown a dream which had two or three mouthfuls of water left and he himself said that this means he has around two or three years remaining in his life time. This was shown to him in 1905.

Here are some more revelations in regards to his passing:

Ahmad(as) states “A few days back, I saw a dream that someone had given me some water in a new earthen vessel in which remained two or three sips of water but, the water was extremely clear and pure. This was accompanied by a revelation, Water of Life (Review of Religions, December 1905 pg 480)

He further saw a dream where Allah informed him:

“only a small portion remained, of the term which had been appointed for him” (Al Hakam, volume 9 no.37 24th October 1905, pg 1)

Again he was revealed to:

“He will send down from heaven that which will please thee. A mercy from Ourself and a matter that has been determined. That which you are being promised is near. I have issued my decree” (Al Hakam, vol 9, no. 44, 24th October 1905 pg 4)

“A sad piece of news has been received from Lahore” (Badr, Volume VI, no.27, July 4, 1907 page 7)

Then on the 14th of March during the year of 1907 Allah revealed:

“..have brought his dead body wrapped in a coffin”(Al Hakm)

A week before he passed away Allah told him “The time of departure is imminent and death is near” and then “An event on the 27th” also “Allah is the best and everlasting” (December 1907)

Then on may 20th 1908 Allah revealed “It is time to march; again, it is time to march and death is near” (Al Badr Vol 7 No. 22, June 2, 1908 page 3)

Just a day before he passed away Allah told him:

“Do not trust the mortal age”

Even when we look at the ahadith in regards to the death of Isa(as) some say 120 years of age and some say 125 years of age from Muhammad(Saw). There is no more room left to bring such an allegation.

Die In Mecca Or Medina?

This allegation is brought up by non Ahmadi Muslims many times and its sad that they do not even read the entire prophecy nor understand it.

The prophecy sent to Ahmad(As) by Allah was :

Translation: (1) [Arabic] Allah has decreed since eternity that He and His Messengers shall prevail. (2) [Arabic] God, the Merciful, says that there is peace, meaning that ‘you will not
die in disappointment or defeat.’ (3) [Urdu] I shall die in Mecca or in Medina.

Explanation from the Messiah(as) himself:

This sentence ‘I shall die in Mecca or in Medina’ means that before my death I shall be bestowed a victory like that of Mecca. That is to say as the Holy Prophet(sa) had vanquished his enemies through the manifestation of the majestic Signs of Allah, so will it happen now. The second meaning is that before my death, I shall be bestowed a victory like that of Medina which means that people’s hearts will of their own be inclined towards me. The phrase: [Allah has decreed, I and My Messengers shall prevail]points to a victory like that of Mecca and the phrase: [Peace is the word from the Merciful Lord] points to a victory like that of Medina.

This prophecy was beautifully fulfilled. When one looks at the success of the jamaat itself it becomes evident.

Here is a picture of what Ahmad(as)said and his explanation as i’ve written above:

Why don’t they read the entire prophecy in context and read what Ahmad(as) wrote? The truth is indeed clear that the lies of Anti Ahmadis will never prevail, rather Allah’s prophet will prevail as he has for the past 125 years.

Prophets Leave No Inheritance?

The allegation of the non Ahmadi Muslims against the Promised Messiah, Hazrat Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) is that Prophets do not leave inheritance. This is totally false and has no basis. They try to quote a hadith of Bukhari which states:

Narrated `Aisha:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “Our property should not be inherited, and whatever we leave, is to be spent in charity.”(Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 80, Hadith #719)

This hadith is specifically referring to the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) himself not all of the prophets. This is the misunderstanding which the non Ahmadi Muslims have because they do not read the Qur’an. The Qur’an has clearly showed us prophets leaving inheritance.

Allah states:

And Solomon was heir to David. And he said, ‘O ye people, we have been taught the language of birds; and we have had everything bestowed upon us. This indeed is God’smanifest grace.’(Chapter 27 Verse 17)

Further Allah states:

‘That he may be heir to me and to the House of Jacob. And make him, my Lord, well-pleasing to Thee.’(Chapter 19 Verse 7)

A Bukhari hadith further clears up the misconception of the non Ahmadis trying to claim that this ahadith refers to all prophets. This hadith is also in Bukhari and states:

Narrated Malik bin Aus:

‘I went and entered upon `Umar, his doorman, Yarfa came saying `Uthman, `Abdur-Rahman, Az- Zubair and Sa`d are asking your permission (to see you). May I admit them? `Umar said, ‘Yes.’ So he admitted them Then he came again and said, ‘May I admit `Ali and `Abbas?’ He said, ‘Yes.’ `Abbas said, ‘O, chief of the believers! Judge between me and this man (Ali ). `Umar said, ‘I beseech you by Allah by Whose permission both the heaven and the earth exist, do you know that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said, ‘Our property will not be inherited, and whatever we leave (after our death) is to be spent in charity?’ And by that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) meant himself.’ The group said, ‘(No doubt), he said so.’ `Umar then faced `Ali and `Abbas and said, ‘Do you both know that Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) said that?’ They replied, ‘(No doubt), he said so.’ `Umar said, ‘So let me talk to you about this matter. Allah favored His Apostle with something of this Fai’ (i.e. booty won by the Muslims at war without fighting) which He did not give to anybody else; Allah said:– ‘And what Allah gave to His Apostle ( Fai’ Booty) ………to do all things….(59.6) And so that property was only for Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) . Yet, by Allah, he neither gathered that property for himself nor withheld it from you, but he gave its income to you, and distributed it among you till there remained the present property out of which the Prophet (ﷺ) used to spend the yearly maintenance for his family, and whatever used to remain, he used to spend it where Allah’s property is spent (i.e. in charity etc.). Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) followed that throughout his life. Now I beseech you by Allah, do you know all that?’ They said, ‘Yes.’ `Umar then said to `Ali and `Abbas, ‘I beseech you by Allah, do you know that?’ Both of them said, ‘Yes.’ `Umar added, ‘And when the Prophet (ﷺ) died, Abu Bakr said, ‘ I am the successor of Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ), and took charge of that property and managed it in the same way as Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) did. Then I took charge of this property for two years during which I managed it as Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr did. Then you both (`Ali and `Abbas) came to talk to me, bearing the same claim and presenting the same case. (O `Abbas!) You came to me asking for your share from the property of your nephew, and this man (Ali) came to me, asking for the share of h is wife from the property of her father. I said, ‘If you both wish, I will give that to you on that condition (i.e. that you would follow the way of the Prophet (ﷺ) and Abu Bakr and as I (`Umar) have done in man aging it).’ Now both of you seek of me a verdict other than that? Lo! By Allah, by Whose permission both the heaven and the earth exist, I will not give any verdict other than that till the Hour is established. If you are unable to manage it, then return it to me, and I will be sufficient to manage it on your behalf.'(Sahih Bukhari, Volume 8, Book 80, Hadith #720)

This hadith makes it clear that the Prophet Muhammad(saw) was referring to only himself. The Qur’an has also proven it by showing that other prophets did indeed leave inheritance.

Did Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) Steal His Father’s Pension?

The non Ahmadis once again have tried to make an allegation against the Prophet of Allah by trying to misquote statements and twist them into a whole different meaning. They falsely translate passages with the intention of deceiving people. This allegation is just another lie by the anti Ahmadis.

They falsely quote from the biography of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as):

Mother (wife of Mirza) told me (son of Mirza) that once during his youth Hazrat Maseeh Mowood (Mirza Qadiani) went to collect the pensin of your grandfather, then Mirza Imamdin went after him. When he (Mirza) recieved the pension, then he (Imamdin) enticed him (Mirza) and instead of Qadian took him away, and took him here and there. Then when he (Mirza) squandered all the money, he (Imamdin) left you and went away.

This is a complete lie. In reality the passage states:

My respected mother narrates: Once in his youth The Promised Messiah went to collect your grandfather’s (ie. The Promised Messiah’s father) pension. Behind him, Mirza Imamuddin followed. When he (The Promised Messiah) collected the pension, Mirza Imamuddin tricked and defrauded him away from Qadian to somewhere else and took him from here to there. When he (Imamuddin) had squandered all the money, he (Imamuddin) left him (the Promised Messiah) and went away.

Just like the uncle of the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) was a severe opponent of Islam, so was the cousin of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) named Mirza Imamuddin. The anti Ahmadis have purposely mistranslated the passage and have accused Ahmad(as) for stealing the pension when this is totally false. It was his cousin who stole the pension from him and I’m sure the anti Ahmadis who spread these lies are aware of this and have the intention to misguide people.

Now one can possibly say that the anti Ahmadis made a mistake and that it was an accident. But the has clearly stated :

“Jab Usnai sara rupaya ura kar khatam kardiya, to aap ko chor kar kaheen oar chala gaya” Anyone who has even a little knowledge of Urdu can see that the sentence is referring to two different people. One is referred to as “us” and the other is referred to as “aap”. In the entire paragraph Ahmad(as) is referred to as aap which respect. How can the Anti Ahmadis really claim that in the final sentence the narrator changes the entire sequence of the sentence and starts to refer to Ahmad(as) as “us” to confuse people? This is a statement full of ignorance. Anyone with even a little knowledge of Urdu can see that the person whos tole the money was the anti Ahmadi named Imam Ud Din. In the entire translation the anti Ahmadis themselves address Ahmad(as) with “aap” while using “us” for Imam Ud Din.

The anti Ahmadis have further mistranslated words here as well. They translate the words “dhoka” and “pisla” to mean entice while entice means tempt and gives the impression that Ahmad(as) had a temptation and wanted to steal the money. Dhoka and Pisla have no relation to the word tempt at all. They would mean defrauded and tricked.

The translation of the Anti Ahmadis is a total lie and has been exposed. The next allegation which comes up is that Ahmad(as) was robbed which shows he was not strong enough to be a prophet. Now where in the Qur’an does it say that a Prophet has to be strong enough to fight the criminals and cannot be robbed? All prophets were persecuted by the opponents. Does this make all prophets false? This itself shows their truthfulness, that despite all of the opposition they are always successful and their message spreads worldwide. This allegation further shows us the lack of Quranic knowledge the anti Ahmadis have. Allah states:

Allah States:And when they despaired of him, they retired, conferring together in private. Their leader said, “Know ye not that your father has taken from you a solemn promise in the name of Allah and how, before this, you failed in your duty with respect to Joseph? I will, therefore, not leave the land until my father permits me or Allah decides for me. And He is the Best of judges. “Return ye to your father and say, ‘O our father, thy son has stolen and we have stated only what we know and we could not be guardians over the unseen.‘And inquire of the people of the city wherein we were, and of the caravan with which we came, and certainly we are speaking the truth.’” He replied, ‘Nay, but your souls have embellished to you this thing. So now comely patience is good for me. May be Allah will bring them all to me; for He is the All-Knowing, the Wise.’And he turned away from them and said, ‘O my grief for Joseph!’ And his eyes became white because of grief, and he was suppressing his sorrow.(Chapter 12 Verses 81-85)

Allah Has clearly Told us that Yaqub (as) was overwhelmed with sorrow and even began to cry. He was weeping for many years for his son Yusuf(as) and now with one more of his sons who he loved wholeheartedly was snatched away from him which almost caused him to lose his sight. Will the Non Ahmadis now reject Yaqub (as) as a prophet of Allah?

Fatima(ra) Dishonored?

The Anti Ahmadis put this allegation out a lot also that the Promised Messiah(as) was God Forbid disrespectful to Hazrat Fatima (ra) who was the youngest daughter of the Prophet(saw) by saying that in a dream, he placed his head upon her lap. It should however be kept in mind that he was not disrespectful to her in any way, and everyone would see that while he was narrating the vision in which he placed his head on her lap, he used the words “like a kind mother”. This shows that it was out of her motherly love for Ahmad(As) that in the dream his head was upon her lap and Ahmad(As) has bestowed this spiritual experience since he is a spiritual son of Hazrat Fatima(ra)’s lineage.

The Original quote for the readers is page 503 (see the footnote to the footnote on that page) of his Barahin-e-Ahmadiyya [vol. 4] (1880-1884):

“Then at that time there appeared five handsome, pleasing and beautiful persons, namely, the Messenger of God, peace be upon him, Ali, Hasan, Husain and Fatima, may God be pleased with them. One of them, and I seem to remember that it was Fatima, with tremendous love and affection, LIKE A KIND MOTHER, put my head upon her lap.”

This once again exposes the Anti Ahmadis who try to lie about Ahmad(as). They lie without even reading the context and is a clear fabrication against Hazrat Fatima(ra) also. THey twisted the words to give the impression that Ahmad(As) was nauzobila disrespectful to Hazrat Fatima(ra).

Here is a vision of a famous Muslim saint, Hazrat Syed Shaikh Abdul Qadir Jilani:

“Hazrat Syed Abdul-Qadir Jilani said, ‘I saw a vision, in which I was in the lap of Hazrat Aishah (ra), and I was suckling on her right breast. After that I expressed the left one, and suckled on it. Then, the Holy Prophet (pbuh) entered’.” (Qalaid-ul-Jawahir fi-Manaqib ash-Sheikh Abdul-Qadir Jilani, Egyptian edition, p. 57, line 8.)

The point is that Aisha(ra) had no offspring so her and Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani had no relation with her, but only a spiritual nature relationship. In Ahmad(As)’s vision it was both physical and spiritual since he is a descendant of Hazrat Fatima(ra). It is absurd that the Anti Ahmadi’s mock Ahmad(as) who is the Messiah(as) but ignore Hazrat Syed Abdul Qadir Jilani’s vision. It is indeed clear that never did Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) dishonor Fatima(ra).
