Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Prophets Within The Ummah

O children of Adam! if Messengers come to you from among yourselves, rehearsing My Signs unto you, then whoso shall fear God and do good deeds, on them shall come no fear nor shall they grieve.(Chapter 7 Verse 36)

This verse is giving a grand prophecy of prophets coming within this Ummah. If Allah was not planning on sending any more prophets He would not have said “If Messengers Come to you”. Can any non Ahmadi claim that this verse is useless and does not belong in the Qur’an or any such statement? Allah has also used the words minkum which refers to from you. Muhammad(saw) used the exact same words for the coming of Isa(as) and this shows that the prophet would be from among us and from us, meaning the Muslims.

Some Non Ahmadi Muslims claim that because it states children of Adam, it does not refer to Muslims. This argument is completely baseless. Firstly this verse is speaking about the future and Allah would not have stated “If Messengers come to you” if it was in regards to the past. The ayah also used rusul in plural form which shows us that non law bearing prophets can indeed come under the Prophet Muhammad(Saw) but would not bring a new law.

Some have shockingly also claimed that the words O Children of Adam do not refer to Muslims. This is totally incorrect. Firstly then who is this verse referring to? Do the non Ahmadis try to claim that the future tense of this ayah refers to prophets outside of the ummah? It is obvious that they do not have such a belief. Now I will show some ayahs that show that O Children of Adam does indeed include the Muslims:

O children of Adam! We have indeed sent down to you raiment to cover your shame, and to be an elegant dress; but the raiment of righteousness — that is the best. That is one of the Signs of Allah, that they may remember.O children of Adam! let not Satan seduce you, even as he turned your parents out of the garden, stripping them of their raiment that he might show them their shame. Truly he sees you, he and his tribe, from where you see them not. Surely, We have made satans friends for those who believe not.(Chapter 7 Verse 28-29)

Now can one really say that when Allah is revealing such commands Muslims are excluded? No one believes such a thing and in verse 30 of the same chapter Allah has also indicated that He is indeed including the nation of the Muslims:

Say, ‘My Lord has enjoined justice. And fix your attention aright at every time andplace of worship, and call upon Him, making yourselves sincere towards Him in religion. As He brought you into being, so shall you return.’(Chapter 7 Verse 30)

Allah has used Qul (say) and whenever this is used Allah is referring to the nation of the Muslims in the Qur’an. Some can also raise the allegation that does this include Law bearing prophets as well? Of course not as Islam is completed and Allah has stated that they would be from amongst the Muslims and they would rehearse the signs of Allah rather than bring anything new.
