Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Peace and Justice

Many non Ahmadi Muslims quote the ahadith which state that the Messiah(as) and Mahdi(as) would bring peace to the world. They need to understand that these ahadith have to be interpreted in a way where the Qur’an is not contradicted and also understood properly. Firstly the Qur’an states:

And from those also who say, ‘We are Christians,’ We took a covenant, but they too have forgotten a good part of that with which they were exhorted. So We have caused enmity and hatred among them till the Day of Resurrection. And Allah will soon let them know what they have been doing.(Chapter 5 verse 15)

Allah has Told us in the Qur’an that the Christians will have enmity and hatred among them until the Day of Judgment. This shows that there will not be peace within the Christians. Allah Has said Similar in regards to the Jews. Allah States:

And the Jews say, ‘The hand of Allah is tied up.’ Their own hands shall be tied up and they shall be cursed for what they say. Nay, both His hands are wide open; He spends how He pleases. And what has been sent down to thee from thy Lord will most surely increase many of them in rebellion and disbelief. And We have cast among them enmity and hatred till the Day of Resurrection. Whenever they kindle a fire for war, Allah extinguishes it. And they strive to create disorder in the earth, and Allah loves not those who create disorder. (Chapter 5 verse 65)

Allah Has also Shown us that there will not be entire peace within the Jews because of their disbelief. There are also ahadith in regards to the messiah and mahdi spreading peace and bringing peace to the earth, however many of those ahadith have weak chains and others have a deeper meaning.

There are two different approaches to answer this question. The first approach is that when a prophecy is made, and the time duration is not mentioned, people become hasty and want the prophecy to be fulfilled in their lifetime, although the prophecy might apply to many many generations and it is ultimately fulfilled in 1000 or 2000 years. When we look at the prophecies of the Qur’an in regards to the Prophecies of the Holy Prophet(saw) we see that the Qur’an states:

He it is Who has sent His Messenger, with guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may make it prevail over all other religions. And sufficient is Allah as a Witness. (Chapter 48 Verse 29)

This prophecy took place 1400 years ago, and in every 100 years one, two or three generations passed away. 40 generations have passed away and this prophecy is still not fulfilled yet. The number of Muslims in comparison to the non Muslims, there is a huge difference. Even in countries like India we are a minority against Hindus. We are a minority against Christians till today and also against atheists. 1400 years have passed since this prophecy. Now if a non Muslim asked this question, what would be the answer? The truth is that an unlimiate phase has been described and the ball is still in play. The same applies here. Peace will ultimately established throughout the world, although the Christians and Jews will continue to fight. The Holy Prophet(saw) stated that when the Messiah would come there would be two great people, two great nations that would be so powerful that it would not be possible for man to fight them. Allah will Reveal to the Messiah to go to the mountain and pray to your lord as He can only destroy them. The same people, Gog and Magog, are described in the Holy Qur’an as the ones who will fight each other and they will ultimately fight each other and be destroyed. Unless these two nations fight against each other, this peace cannot be established. His words should be interpreted in the light of his own words rather than the interpretation of others. Before the coming of the peace the two nations had to fight each other and be exhausted as the Qur’an tells us. If a good is promised to a people, that promise is always conditional towards the reply and attitude of the people. The Qur’an clearly states that the Holy Prophet(saw) has come to give us a new life. How many are there that achieved this life? He(saw) was sent for the entire world, but only a minority achieved this. Peace was established by Ahmad(as) to Ahmadis while the other Ahmadis are living a life of Hell. When we look at the life of other people around the world, its clear that we feel like we are in paradise. Its clear that the world is suffering but this jamaat is continuing to progress. This peace was given to Ahmadis by Ahmad(as) and it is confined to those who accepted him. All of the benefits of Muhammad(saw) flowed to the direction of those who accepted him. If the reward is bigger, so is the punishment. If the peace is denied by man, while Allah offered the peace, the man will suffer from hell which he has not suffered before. If people in Pakistan were to become Ahmadi today even they would become one of the greatest people on the earth. These are benefits of Ahmadiyyat but are given only to those who accept and submit. These points are from the Fourth Khalifa, Hazrat Mirza Tahir Ahmad(ra)
