Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

Messiah Would Be Declared Kaffir?

This is a in depth question and has a answer which one needs to pay attention to. Let us go right to the Qur’an to answer it as Promised Messiah(as) has said.

But who could do greater wrong than one who forges the lie against Allah while he is called to Islam? Allah guides not the wrongdoing people. They desire to extinguish the light of Allah with the breath of their mouths, but Allah will perfect His light, even if the disbelievers hate it.He it is Who has sent His Messenger with the guidance and the Religion of truth, that He may cause it to prevail over all religions, even if those who associate partners with God hate it.(Chapter 61 Verses 8-10)

Now Allah is speaking of someone who said I am from God now Allah is saying who can be worst then one who says i am from God and is in reality lying. He has invented he is from God but is not, whereas he is being called to Islam.

This refers to someone who is not Muhammad(Saw) because he was not called to Islam, he was calling to Islam. Here Allah is talking about someone who is already from Islam and is saying he is from Allah and the people of Islam are telling him he is lying and come back to the true Islam.

Now who amongst the Muslims would ever do that? The mullahs and the ulema which is clear today in front of our eyes and they think they are the gods deciding who is Muslim or not sadly. They are saying you cannot be from Allah and that only they are the true Muslims.

And now Allah says he will perfect his light even if the disbelievers hate it, and as we see the mullahs are doing everything trying to kill us , destroy our mission etc this was a prophecy. Allah says this will happen when the time of the messiah is here because it says that He may cause it to prevail over all religions and as we know this was the task of the messiah which many tafseer also agree with including the most popular tafseer of the Non Ahmadis, Tafsir Ibn Jarir. It is stated:

It is during the Promised Messiah’s time that the true religion will supersede over all the false religions and only one religion will remain.(Ibn Jarir Volume 28, p 53)

Now Allah stated in the previous verse in Chapter 61 Verse 7:

And remember when Jesus, son of Mary, said, ‘O children of Israel, surely I am Allah’s Messenger unto you, fulfilling that which is before me of the Torah, and giving glad tidings of a Messenger who will come after me. His name will be Ahmad.’ And when he came to them with clear proofs, they said, ‘This is clear enchantment.’(Chapter 61 Verse 7)

Allah is talking about what they did to Moses(as) will happen again they will rebel against him. At one point Moses(as) asked Allah i did enough how long will you keep me among them? Then Allah says when Isa(as) will say I am Allahs messenger and fulfilling what is before me and giving glad tidings of a messenger who’s name shall be Ahmad and when he came they said this is clear enchantment. Here past tense is used but in arabic for prophecies its always past tense so its a prophecy of someone coming as Ahmad said by Jesus(As) which proves it will relate to Isa(as) and as we see Mirza Ghulam Ahmad (as) is the latter day messiah for our ummah. No one denies that this also refers to the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) but it was indeed a double prophecy which is clear from the verses in context. Even when we move on to the next chapter of the Qur’an it further makes it clear for us. Allah states in chapter 62 verse 3 and 4:

He it is Who has raised among the Unlettered people a Messenger from among themselves who recites unto them His Signs, and purifies them, and teaches them the Book and wisdom, although they had been, before, in manifest misguidance; And among others from among them who have not yet joined them. He is the Mighty, the Wise.(Chapter 62 Verses 3-4)

Now these ayahs are extremely interesting as they prophesize that in the end times the people would also see the prophet Muhammad(saw) as well. However this is not to be taken literally. The Holy Prophet(saw) has himself shown us the true meaning of these ayahs in Bukhari Kitabut Tafseer. The hadith states:

Narrated Abu Huraira:

While we were sitting with the Prophet (ﷺ) Surat Al-Jumu’a was revealed to him, and when the Verse, “And He (Allah) has sent him (Muhammad) also to other (Muslims)…..’ (62.3) was recited by the Prophet, I said, “Who are they, O Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ)?” The Prophet (ﷺ) did not reply till I repeated my question thrice. At that time, Salman Al-Farisi was with us. So Allah’s Messenger (ﷺ) put his hand on Salman, saying, “If Faith were at (the place of) Ath-Thuraiya (pleiades, the highest star), even then some man from these people (i.e. Salman’s folk) would attain it.”(Bukhari, vol 6, Book 60, Hadith #420)

This hadith makes it clear that the second coming of the Messiah who was to revive the faith would indeed also be a spiritual coming of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) as the Holy Prophet Muhammad(saw) prophesied. This also helps one understand the point of the double prophecy made above.

We also have to keep in mind that the Holy Qur’an has clearly said that all prophets are mocked and has likened our ummah to the ummah of Moses(as) by saying:

Verily, We have sent to you a Messenger, who is a witness over you, even as We sent a Messenger to Pharaoh.(Chapter 73 Verse 16)

Further more a hadith of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) states:

Narrated ‘Abdullah bin ‘Amr:

that the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) said: “What befell the children of Isra’il will befall my Ummah, step by step, such that if there was one who had intercourse with his mother in the open, then there would be someone from my Ummah who would do that. Indeed the children of Isra’il split into seventy-two sects, and my Ummah will split into seventy-three sects. All of them are in the Fire Except one sect.” He said: “And which is it O Messenger of Allah?” He said: “What I am upon and my Companions.(Jami’at Tirmidhi #2641)

He made it clear that our ummahs are alike and Isa(as) was declared a kaffir and also persecuted which shows that this Messiah would also be persecuted and declared a kaffir. This is also further proven by a prophecy about the condition of the ummah of the Muslims in the end times as prophesied:

‘Alī ibn Abī Ṭālib (ra) narrates that the Messenger of Allāh (sa) said: “A time will come in the near future when there will be nothing left of the Islam except its name. And there will be nothing left of the Holy Qur’ān except its words. The mosques of that age will apparently be full of people, but will be empty of righteousness. Their ‘Ulamā’ will be the worst creatures under the heaven. Discourse will rise from them and will come right back to them.”(Mishkat)

And:

“There will arise a great turbulence among my people and in their terror they will have recourse to their divines and suddenly they will find them in the guise of apes and swine.”(Kanzul Ummal, Vol. VII, p. 90)
