Welcome to Ahmadi Answers

The Ahmadiyya Muslim Community is the only Islamic organization to believe that the long-awaited Messiah has come in the person of Mirza Ghulam Ahmad(as) (1835-1908) of Qadian. Ahmad(as) claimed to be the metaphorical second coming of Jesus(as) of Nazareth and the divine guide, whose advent was foretold by the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(saw). We believe that according to the Qur’an and the sayings of the Prophet Muhammad(saw) it is clear that the latter day messiah would be an imam from amongst the Muslims. Ahmadiyya Muslim Community believes that God sent Ahmad(as), like Jesus(as), to end religious wars, condemn bloodshed and re-institute morality, justice and peace. Ahmad(as)’s advent has brought about an unprecedented era of Islamic revival. He divested Islam of fanatical beliefs and practices by vigorously championing Islam’s true and essential teachings.

False Claimants Are Destroyed

And if he had forged and attributed any sayings to Us,We would surely have seized him by the right hand,And then surely We would have severed his life-arteryAnd not one of you could have held Us off from him.(Chapter 69 Verse 45-48)

These verses are beautiful proofs to also show the truthfulness of the Promised Messiah(as). It is clear that one who lies about revelation and claims its from Allah is bound to be destroyed. This was revealed to the Prophet Muhammad(saw) and he lived for 23 years after his first revelation which tells us that the person is indeed truthful if they live up to 23 years. However, this does not apply to everyone as the person should be known as a truthful person as Surah Yunus hints to as explained under this section as well. Some non Ahmadis bring up claimants who lived long than 23 years but were false however none have claimed to get revelation from Allah. One famous person brought up is Bahaullah but the sad part is the non Ahmadis have not researched his life. I have read many of his writings from their own website which shows his claim was not of a prophethood rather a manifestation of God and a claimant of God.

Some non Ahmadis also try to claim that these verses only refer to the Holy Prophet(saw) alone. This is totally false. How can we than use this as an argument to prove his truthfulness if it is only for him? If this shows the truthfulness of Muhammad(saw) than it can also be used to see whether someone else is truthful as well.

The claimant must be serious and attribute revelation to Allah and should announce the revelations to the world for this to apply to him. Apart from all of this his past life should be extremely clear of any lie or dishonest act.

This refers to when the person has claimed revelation from Allah rather than when he claimed prophethood. Ahmad(as) first received his revelation in 1860 and passed away in 1908 showing that he was indeed a truthful prophet and Allah continued to bless his progeny and community even after he had died and is till today.

Ahmad(as) states:

“O ye people, be certain that I am being helped by a Hand Which shall always support me. If your men and your women, your youth and your elders, your commoners and your elite, all join together to pray for my destruction, to the extent that through constant prostrations noses start to rot and hands become useless, even then Allah will not listen to your prayers and He will not stop until His will is accomplished. And even if not a single human being supports me, the angels of Allah will be with me(Ruhani Khazain Volume 17, Arbaeen page 400)

He also states:

In this regard one of my friends, with the purest of intentions, presented the question that in the verse Lau taqauwwala ‘alaina only the Holy Prophet (sa) has been addressed, and how can it be inferred therefrom that if another person forges a lie [against Allah] then he would also be destroyed? The answer I provided him is that this statement is presented as an argument; and among the many proofs of the truthfulness of prophethood, this is also a proof. As such, the statement of Allah is only proven true if a false claimant [to divine revelation] is destroyed, otherwise this statement cannot be an argument against those who disbelieve, nor can it be established as a proof before him. Rather, he can assert that the Holy Prophet (sa) was not saved from destruction for 23 years because he was truthful. Instead, the reason is because forging a lie against God is not a sin for which He punishes anyone in this world. For if this was a sin and the Sunnah of Allah required that a false claimant be punished in this world, then there should have been examples of this, but you accept that there are no such examples. Quite the contrary, there are many examples where people forged lies against God for 23 years or even more, but they were not destroyed. Now tell us, what would be the response to such an allegation?”(Ruhani Khazain Volume 17 page 434-435)

Alama Sad-ud-Din Taftazani states:”The reason renders it impossible that these things should accumulate in any other than a prophet, in a person about whom Allah the Exalted knows that he is fabricating a lie upon God and yet grant him respite for 23 years(Sharah Ul Aqaid)
